CSX Director of Construction Engineering Michael Hoey was presented with the Association of American Railroads’ John H. - West Branch Commerce Park Site Receives CSX Select Site Designation
CSX has announced that a portion of the West Branch Commerce Park in Berkeley County, South Carolina has been designated a CSX Select Site. The West Branch Commerce Park is the third site in South Carolina and the first in South Carolina’s Low Country to be designated as a CSX Select Site.
- New Georgia Inland Terminal Planned
Clarence Gooden, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, along with Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal, the Georgia Ports Authority and Murray County recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement, establishing the Appalachian Regional Port in Chatsworth, Ga. The new inland terminal will open just off Interstate 75 in north Georgia by 2018, and will funnel goods produced in East Tennessee, north Georgia, Alabama and parts of Kentucky to the deep water Port of Savannah, Ga.
- CSX Creates Opportunities for Increased Cross-border Trade with New Intermodal Terminal in Montreal
CSX announced the opening of a new intermodal terminal in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield near Montreal, Quebec. The facility expands CSX’s intermodal network capacity and offers Canadian customers domestic and international service that connects with the railroad’s 21,000 mile network in the United States.
- I-26 Mega Site Receives CSX Select Site Designation
CSX has announced that the I-26 Mega Site in Newberry County, S.C. has been designated a CSX Select Site. This location is the second property in South Carolina to receive the Select Site designation. The I-26 Mega Site is a more than 2,000 acre industrial park located adjacent to both Interstate 26 and the CSX mainline.

CSX’s popular Short Line Workshop consistently attracts an enthusiastic crowd from the short line and regional railroad industry, and this year was no exception. More than 285 short line railroad representatives attended the recent Workshop, joining more than 200 CSX employees to share feedback about the past year and plan for a successful 2015.
